Founded in 2025 and published by Stanford University Press, PBMT is a society-owned publication that emphasizes serving the needs of the modeling & theory community. In 2026 the journal is supported through its publisher's limited grant funding and remains under a Diamond Open Access model, meaning there are no APCs or subscription fees to publish or read. In 2027 the journal is planning to transition to the Subscribe to Open model, in order to continue offering $0 APCs for authors.
